Magouyrk Wins First Title, Chernev Obliterates Team Records at 14 & Under States

Twenty-five Tidal Wave swimmers went to GA Tech over the weekend to compete in the Georgia 14 & under State Championships and Junior States meet.  Our 10 & unders led the way for the team.  Hannah Magouyrk won her first ever state title in the 9-10 girls 100 fly, with a time of 1:08.15!!!  George Chernev finished top 3 in the state in 9 events! Harper Sampieri also scored top 10 in all 9 of her events!

Tidal Wave relays were highlighted by the 10 & under Mixed Medley relay that secured a 2^nd place finish!  Team members were George Chernev (back), Hannah Magouyrk (breast), Harper Sampieri (fly), and Nathan Moore (free).

Tidal Wave swimmers also made some huge changes ot our team records and All-Time Top 10 lists.  George Chernev broke six (6) team records!!! His new 9-10 boys’ team records:  100 free – 1:02.34, 500 free – 5:52.67, 50 fly – 29.37, 100 fly – 1:06.00, 100 IM – 1:11.35, and 200 IM – 2:32.36 – incredible effort!
