Sampieri and Chernev lead at Age Group State
Harper Sampieri and Nikolay Chernev led a strong group of Tidal Wave swimmers at the GA Age Group State Championships. Harper won three 10 & under girls’ state titles (400 free, 50 & 100 fly) and broke three team records (100 free, 50 & 100 fly)!!! Nikolay scored the second most points amongst the 13-14 boys (while only 13) and secured a new team record in the 13-14 boys 100 breast!!! Nikolay also earned his first yellow cap, in three different races (100 & 200 breast, 400 IM)! Additionally, Nikolay and Andrew Jansick will be traveling to Midland, TX after earning spots on the Georgia Zone Team!!! Lucas Hanna secured his first ever senior state cut (200 breast), while Nathan Moore and Josh Smith achieved their first state cuts in their current age group (50 back and 200 fly, respectively).
So many swimmers contributed to a great team effort. Tidal Wave scored the 9th most points of any team at the meet. Four (4) team records were set, and 28 new Tidal Wave All-time Top 10 swims were achieved by eight (8) swimmers!!! Below is a full list of the new top 10 swims.
